Being one of the largest employers in the industry, JEC is well known for its quality technical and engineering services provided to its clients. We are keen to equip young people who are interested in technical subjects with theoretical knowledge and practical skills, so that we can maintain a strong and competent technical workforce to serve our clients.

We encourage teenagers to join this prosperous industry and aim to help them realise their full potential through structured internal and external trainings. Through partnering with the Vocational Training Council (VTC) all these years, we have been able to train up a lot of technical professionals for the industry.

Apprenticeship Training Programme

Registered under the HKSAR Government’s Apprenticeship Ordinance, JEC offers Apprenticeship Training Programme to young persons who are interested in one of the following trades:
  • Air-conditioning and Refrigeration
  • Building Services
  • Fire Services
  • Electrical
  • Mechanical

Apprentices employed by JEC, will go through a 4-year on-the-job training and concurrently being fully sponsored to undertake a course of study at the VTC.

JEC’s Apprenticeship Programme has the following characteristics:
  • Internal technical training provided by experienced technical professionals
  • Offer of internal scholarship to encourage life-long learning
  • Good performers will be nominated to participate in various trade competitions such as Outstanding Apprentices, WorldSkills, etc.
  • Apprentices assigned to Air-conditioning and Refrigeration will rotate among different work teams within JEC for comprehensive learning experience and industrial exposure
Types of Apprenticeship
  Craft Apprentice (Traditional) Craft Apprentice (Dual Track) *NEW* Technician Apprentice
Minimum entry requirement: Complete S3 Complete S5 Five HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or above, including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics
VTC programme of study: Diploma in Vocational Education Diploma in Engineering –
Air-conditioning
Higher Diploma in Building Services
Study mode:
  • Part-time Day Release Mode – apprentice will be released 1 day per week to attend day classes. 
  • At times, they may need to attend evening classes as required by the course schedules
  • Part-time Day Release Mode: apprentice will be released 2 days per week to attend day classes. 
  • No evening class schedules
  • Part-time Day Release Mode – apprentice will be released 1 day per week to attend day classes. 
  • At times, they may need to attend evening classes as required by the course schedules
Specialty area:
  • Air-conditioning and Refrigeration; or
  • Building Services; or
  • Fire Services; or
  • Electrical; or
